How to Improve Your RHYTHM and Time-Feel on Saxophone
Rhythm is usually the biggest weak spot for developing saxophone players.
Part of the problem is we’re always focusing most of our energy on what notes to play, when we really should be paying closer attention to the rhythms of those notes.
In this video lesson I demonstrate some different ways to use your metronome to improve your rhythm and time-feel which is going to help you sound a lot better no matter what music you play.

► Metronome Techniques ◀
If you aren't practicing with a metronome, you're doing it wrong.
⋆ Level 1 - of this is being able to play your scales, exercises and songs along with the metronome clicking on every beat of the measure.
⋆ Level 2 - is setting the metronome to half the speed and playing the same material but with clicks just on beats 1 and 3.
⋆ Level 3 - is doing the same thing, but turned around so that the clicks are on beats 2 and 4.
⋆ Level 4 - (advanced) is only one click per measure. This can be done at any tempo (if your metronome goes slow enough) but is especially useful for practicing faster tempos.
⋆ Level 5 - is one click per measure, but on beat 3 rather than 1.
