すずめ戸締まりの聖地　岩手県・織笠駅編

すずめ戸締まりの聖地のひとつに挙げられている岩手県・織笠駅と、すぐ近くの山田湾を一望出来るオーシャンビュー・ポイントをご紹介致します。織笠駅にお立ち寄りの際には是非このポイントにも足を運んでみて下さい。In today's episode, I like to take you a little tour to Orikasa station area, and the beautiful scenery around Yamada machi, Iwate prefecture in northern Japan where I spent all my youth.
Yamada machi is known for its ria coast facing the Pacific Ocean.
This area recently became one of the model village for the animation film called "Suzume" directed by Makoto Shinkai who also directed another well known anime film "Your Name" few years ago.
Yamada machi area is one of the most beautiful and peaceful place in Japan.
However, sadly it was destroyed by the mega earthquake on March 11th, 2011.
Suzume is the Japanese name for "Sparrows" and in the film, it's a main young female character's name.
Suzume is brave, kind and determined to fulfill her mission in her adventure despite of the challenges she faces.
In nature, sparrows give me a great hope and courage, I hope they do give you those as well.
Yamada machi is still really beautiful and slowly but surely rising back from the devastation.
