The REAL History of Earth Day

In 1969, Ohio's once flourishing Cuyahoga River caught on fire, but this wasn’t the first time - in fact the Cuyahoga caught fire 9 times before, but it wasn’t until 1969 that anyone cared. This is the story of the 1969 Ohio River Fire and how the Apollo 11 Moon Landing and the Chappaquiddick Scandal involving Teddy Kennedy, led to the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency and the very first Earth Day.
