Eyelet Lace Washcloth - Learn to Knit Series (Week 5) - Continental Knit
We're into week 5 of our 6 week "Learn to Knit" series where you'll learn a basic introduction to lace, as well as make a very useful washcloth! This pattern uses only knit, purl, yarn over and slip, slip, knit (ssk) {And I'll show you all the steps!). On the website or Ravelry Store, you can download a free copy of the pattern that includes the written directions, a chart and a row by row checklist. Please like and subscribe!

Difficulty Level: Easy
Measures: 9" x 9"
Stitches Used: Knit (k), Purl (p), Yarn Over (yo) & Slip, Slip, Knit (ssk)
Materials Needed: Solid Color Yarn (I used Lily Sugar'n Cream in the color Sky) 100% Cotton, Medium 4 weight,
Size 6 (4.00mm) Knitting Needles
2 stitch Markers (optional)
Tapestry Needle and Scissors
Note: Pattern length can be adjusted by continuing to do more repeats. End with either row 5 or 13 in pattern repeat, then finish with "Final Row" section when you come to the desired length. To adjust width, calculate the number of stitches in increments of 2.
Directions:
Set Up Rows
Cast on 40
Knit across for 4 rows
Pattern
1. (RS) Knit across
2. (All WS Rows): K3, p34, k3
3. K3, *yo, ssk; rep * until 3 sts remain, k3
4. As row 2
5. Knit across
6. As row 2
7. Knit across
8. As row 2
9. Knit across
10. As row 2
11. K4, *yo, ssk; rep * until 4 sts remain, k4
12. As row 2
13. Knit across
14. As row 2
15. Knit across
16. As row 2
Rep rows 1-16 once more, rep rows 1-13 once more
Final Rows
K across for 4 rows
Bind off knit wise and weave in ends. If you are gifting this washcloth, I recommend blocking.
