Royal Family have stuck to ‘unspoken rule’ about Halloween costumes

Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue discusses the Royal Family’s “unspoken rule” of not celebrating Halloween in public and the times royal members dressed up for the holiday.

Ms Krakue said the historical rule around how royals dress in public goes back to Queen Victoria’s reign.

“She effectively stipulated that all members of the Royal family have to conduct themselves with decorum and dignity in public,” she told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.

She notes that Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went to a “low-key” Halloween party a few years ago.

“I can’t imagine actually seeing King Charles in costume now.”
