On September 28th 2000, Venus Williams became a double Olympic champion as she won her second gold medal of Sydney 2000.

Having won the Women's single Tennis event the day before, Venus Williams and her sister Serena beat the Dutch pairing of Kristie Boogert and Miriam Oremans to win the Women's doubles Olympic title.
