Ukrainian soldiers had a joyous welcome from the Nova Basan locals as they pushed back on Russian troops.

The town situated in the south of the Chernihiv region in Ukraine is just one of the locations Ukrainian forces have retaken.

Ukraine have continued to make successful but limited counterattacks to the east and northeast of Kyiv following Russia’s retreat.
