Rice Experiment at MGIS
When Mahatma Gandhi International School founders, Dr. Pascal Chazot and Anju Musafir presented the Rice Experiment developed by Dr. Masaru Emoto to the faculty, it was a pleasant surprise to know that a Kinder Garten teacher had decided to try it first in her class.
The experiment designed by Dr. Emoto involved the use of three identical jars containing rice and water. These were placed in identical conditions and the only difference was the label put on these jars. One jar was labeled “I Hate You”, the second jar was labeled “I Love You” and the third was unlabelled. The experiment which lasted for about a month, required students to greet the jars according to the labels placed on them. They said ‘I Hate You” to the first jar, “I Love You” to the second jar and ignored the third jar. The results of this experiment were incredible. Watch this video to know what happened to the jar students serenaded with love chants. It is a testimony to the power of love and the impact of words, intention and thoughts on matter.
This experiment reminds us about the power of the intangible - intention and words, on our physical reality, in context of the recent research done in Quantum Physics and Spirituality. It is something we can no longer ignore, especially in a school where we nurture the future.
The world is changing and consciousness is shifting. The need to be more aware of ourselves, what we say and think, how we behave and react… has never been so acute. To equip children for the needs of a changing world, we have to start early.
