Growing Picking and Canning Blue Lake Bush Green Beans - Homesteading To Grow Your Own Food.

Today we show which variety of green beans we have selected to grow on our farm, Blue Lake Bush Beans. We talk about why we selected this variety and how we grow them.

We are talking about growing organically using organic practices in compost without using chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides and what that harvest looks like.

Then we show picking beans, breaking beans, washing beans and putting them in canning jars for pressure canning. We pack bean in mason jars, add salt, water and then put them in the pressure canner at 10lbs for 25 minutes.

At the end, we show just how many quarts of beans we were able to produce in a small garden space.
