16720 - Quantum Communication in MAS: A Survey of Models, Constraints and Open Challenges

Quantum multi-agent systems promise a fundamentally better way for AI agents to coordinate, but there's a problem nobody has formally solved: the hardware expires before the algorithm even notices.
In this video, we present DAMEF (Decoherence-Aware MARL-Driven Entanglement Management Framework). DAMEF is a unified cross-layer framework that co-designs quantum hardware constraints with multi-agent reinforcement learning and treats decoherence not as an obstacle to work around, but as an active protocol constraint.
What we cover:
Why classical MARL algorithms like QMIX break under quantum entanglement
The three-layer cascade of failures in current QMAS design
How T₂ coherence time acts as a hard protocol deadline (not a soft parameter)
The five DAMEF components: PSM, DCRL, EACS, MPI, and the Composition Engine
The first formal analytical bound mapping hardware decoherence to agent coordination utility
