What Cleanser to use for Acne

If you have oily, acne-prone skin, you can consider one or more of the following options:

Salicylic Acid Cleansers:
Salicylic acid, also known as BHA, is a great choice. It can penetrate the oily layers of the skin, remove dead skin cells, and keep pores clean so that they are less likely to clog.

Benzoyl Peroxide Cleansers:
Benzoyl peroxide is excellent because it kills the bacteria that cause acne. It's especially beneficial for inflammatory acne, such as pustules and cysts. However, be cautious—benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics and can be drying on the skin if overused.

A Mild Water-based Gel to Foam Cleanser:
Not everyone with acne needs a cleanser with SA or benzoyl peroxide. Often, a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type that doesn't clog pores is enough. This can be a great standalone option or an excellent addition if you're using other treatment cleansers or separate acne treatments like retinol or retinoids.
