The Headless Eyes - 1971

An artist who has fallen on bad times, resorts to petty theft to pay his rent, but is caught during a robbery and loses an eye in a fight.
He then gradually slips into dementia, stalking and seeking out victims, and cuts out their eyes as part of a plan to create a new master work that he thinks will bring him fame and fortune.

A totally mad slice of 70's grindhouse horror exploitation, which defies it's low budget to offer some interesting takes on the nature of madness and obsession. On the plus side, this has a cast who are at least competent actors, and there is a fair amount of blood and severed eyeballs during the brief running time to keep horror fans interested.
There's also quite a lot of long talk scenes and stalking action which sometimes feels like it is too padded out, but this is still a fun title to add to your watch list.

My home makeover is from the 80's Sapphire vhs release, which was an awfully spotty and damaged print that had every splice looking like it was sellotaped together by an editor with dirty hands.
I have removed the film dirt and bad splices, and improved the colour, so this at least looks presentable now. Enjoy!!!!!
