On the final side of the album, our time traveller fully realizes that his sorrow dims the bright lights of the future. Understanding that he's not a "21st Century Man", he picks up his suitcase (with a penny in his pocket) as the screeching guitar of "The Bouncer" announces to his lover that he will be back to see her. Overcoming his downtrodden state, our time traveller decides to "Hold On Tight" to his dream and makes his escape back to 1981.

Or does he? Not even Jeff Lynne knows, which is part of the beauty of this album.
