Let’s say that you want to hide the excel ribbon at the top of the worksheet. To do this, left double click on the current tab that you are in. For instance I am in the home tab, I will left double click on it, and the ribbon collapses behind the tabs, and the column headers rise up, giving more rows near the bottom more visibility.

If you need quick access to the ribbon, single left click on a tab, for instance, the view tab, and the ribbon will temporarily appear. I will adjust the zoom, and when I click on the worksheet, the ribbon will again collapse.
Now, to get the ribbon back permanently, again, left double click on any of the tabs at the top, as you see I am doing here.
