Two episodes in one week? Oh we on that old Rachel YouTube schedule baby. I still have a decent amount to wrap up this portion of my backyard with a couple more outdoor makeovers but love that this gave us a bit of a vibe check. The DIY concrete table is growing on me - I think adding the plants to turn it into some sort of "living" art and the fact my friend asked me how I got this vintage table here - but I'm seriously stoked.

What would I do differently? Ensure I had more of the countertop mix for a proper pour the first go and TWO extra sets of hands. OR that I had all the ingredients to make white concrete and again two extra set of hands. I am a very much so on the fly DIY type of gal because my patience is still a work in progress but also because the desert doesn't have much available. Driving into Home Depot is a two hour round trip at least and that's on the off chance they have the item you want in stock. Moving out here has taught me to use what is available, on my land or within a 20 minute drive. I am proud of the problem solving but it really is a simple fix of simply being properly prepared.

Why this DIY? This corner of the party pad has a walkway that leads to my garden. I love the idea of having a hefty enough producing garden that we can do some garden to table meals. The white cement table is the one of two tables I will be pouring. The second table will go on the rooftop of the stock tank pool room making this white table more of where we would plate food buffet style for humans to grab and then walk up to eat under the stars. When I design, I DIY it to avoid as much FOMO as possible because it's my house and I hate FOMO. You can see I didn't put stone under the right of the table since all the action is near the BBQ. Adding that DIY tabletop or DIY mini bar invites people to come, rest their drink and chat. The table has two very comfortable chairs for now but more can be added to entice more humans.

Where are we on my property? The last room redo shows you a good layout but basically you see this outdoor structure looking out from my back door and windows. We call it the "party pad" since it holds everything you could want for outdoor entertaining on the red rocked area around it: outdoor shower, stock tank pool, jacuzzi, cactus garden, rooftop dining, pond with tiny home replica and fountain with bridge leading to fire pit outdoor cooking zone with a Jeep Willys daybed right out of reach. I mean COME ON!

I hope you guys are having an incredible week so far and I can't wait to show you the content that is to come. I am trying my best to do what I can to ensure we start tackling my desert home renovation January 1, 2023. So if you read these things all the way through, this update is for you: right now I am working on the second half of the room redo that actually shows you how this room is becoming my throw room (drop some questions for the Q + A below) and I've been fixing the massive leak that ruined the trailer drywall job and starting to tackle that again by diving into/focusing on the bedroom first.
