Peter The Lumberjack Aerts Insane High Kicks Explained - Technique Breakdown

Peter The Dutch Lumberjack Aerts is one of the greatest kickboxers of all time. His nickname, the Lumberjack, came from Aerts ability to fell heavyweights, chopping them down with wide, arching kicks. But there was much more to Arts style than mere power.

Aerts used complex footwork similar to the footwork Lomachenko uses today, which was set up and supported by stellar striking fundamentals and intelligent ringcraft.

Aerts entire style was built around landing his insane high kicks, and every component of his system was engineered to move him towards that goal. His style is a great example of how a fighter can use simple, low risk techniques to break down opponents in order to set up more powerful strikes. So in this video, we’ll take a look at the staple strikes that Aerts threw, and how he modified each to create a clear and effective path towards landing his most dangerous strike.
