What's Special About 72 ppi? - Absolutely nothing!
There are many references to computer monitors having a resolution of 72 pixels per inch or 72 ppi. Photoshop users are often told to size their images at 72 ppi when they intend on using them for Web sites or other on-screen displays (e.g. PowerPoint). You'll learn in this tutorial that this is meaningless information because there is actually no importance to the number "72 ppi" when creating images for on-screen display.
