Hi everyone, I’m Christan Long!

I am an adventure traveler who grew up as a part of The Long Family of Gorge River. We are the most isolated family in New Zealand. We live 2 days walk from the nearest road on the South Island West Coast, between Haast and Milford Sound.

In this video, I am at home at Gorge River and I go out collecting paua with Robert Long (Beansprout) .

While at home Sarah and I went out and collected paua with Dad north of Gorge River. It's something that I have done with Dad ever since I was very young.

Paua daily limit is 10 paua and legal size is 125mm long. It is best to collect them with a blunt knife of some sort so as to not damage the flesh of the Paua. Therefore if it is undersized then you can release it back to the ocean.
