Gabriel Fauré was a French composer, organist, pianist and teacher. He was one of the famous French composers of his generation. Elegie in C minor op 24 is one of the most popular cello pieces. It is published in Suzuki cello book 8. Among Gabriel Fauré other best-known works are his Pavane, Requiem, Sicilienne, nocturnes for piano and the songs "Après un rêve" and "Clair de lune".
