| IMD Alert | Rain Forecast Today | Top News

The last phase of the monsoon is continuing across several parts of India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to heavy rainfall is likely in 15 states today, September 25. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with speeds of 40 to 85 kmph are also expected in several areas. The IMD has issued a flash flood warning for some parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next 24 hours. A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is causing strong winds over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal. Along the coasts of south Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, wind speeds may reach 55-65 kmph, with gusts up to 75 kmph. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is gradually withdrawing from parts of the country. The monsoon withdrawal line currently passes through Gurdaspur, Chandigarh, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Dholpur, Udaipur and Naliya.
