Tackling Inequalities in a Diverse Dementia Population, ARUK Clinical Conference 2022

In November 2022, we held our third Clinical Conference in London and online.

We were pleased to be joined by Dr Charles Marshall, from Queen Mary University of London, and Dr Shahid Zaman, from the University of Cambridge, for a discussion on "Tackling Inequalities in a Diverse Dementia Population".

Some groups within our society are more heavily impacted by dementia, either through being more at risk of the diseases that cause dementia or because they are more likely to experience poorer health outcomes.

Understanding more about these inequalities enables us to take steps to address them in clinical practice, public policy and research.

In this session, Dr Charles Marshall discusses the role of ethnicity and deprivation, while Dr Shahid Zaman considers the key issues in dementia in Down’s Syndrome.

We hope you enjoy this session, which was recorded live on the day. Our next Clinical Conference will be held on 10 November 2023 at the Royal College of Physicians, London and online.

More details, including how to secure tickets, will be made available shortly. Sign up to receive updates here: https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/about-us/our-influence/for-clinicians/register-your-interest-in-our-clinical-conferences/
