How Venom is Extracted from Snakes

Clodomiro Picado Institute in San Jose, Costa Rica is home to 500 snakes. The Institute extracts venom from the snakes in a process called milking. Venom is extracted to produce antivenom, helping to reduce the mortality rate of snake bite victims.
