Software Development Tools | 11TH Computer Science | Unit 1 - Lec-11

Software Development Tools are programs or applications that assists various stages of software creation. Software Development Tools are used to write, edit, test, debugging during software development. We are covering First Year Computer Science, Chapter No.1 where software development tools we are to cover are Language Editors/ Code Editors, Translators, Debuggers, Integrated development environments, online off line computing platforms, source code repositories.

Language Editors/ Code Editors:
are tools helps to develop or edit code different programming languages like , C,C++ or python.
Examples: Notepad ++, VS Code
Translators / Language Processors:
are tools which coverts high level language in to low level language. it has two types, Interpreter and compliers.
Debuggers:
are tools used to identify and fix error or bugs from code. Examples of debuggers are GDB, GNU Debugger
Integrated Development Environments (IDE):
IDEs are comprehensive software suites that provides all the software for development in one place. IDEs offers a unified interface where developers can write, edit, translate and debug the code.
Examples are , Visual Studio, Pycharm
Online and offline Computing Platform:
Include Online Platforms like ,Replit ,Getpod.
offline platforms like IDEs.
Source Code Repositories:
are platforms where developers can store manage and track change perform to their code.
Examples are: Github, Bitbucket
