Open a restaurant tomorrow and you face an awful choice. Spend on the quality kit you actually need, or hold the cash to pay this month's salaries and the meat supplier.

It's the choice most catering equipment retailers force on their B2B customers. They take the order and move on.

@ecateringequipment took a different position. They added buy now, pay later through @iwoca, the only B2B BNPL provider Andrew Pickersgill has found that works in this category. Most of their competitors don't offer it.

The result over the last 12 months: a steady uplift in average order value. The mechanic is obvious in hindsight. If a customer has a 10k iwoca limit and they're spending 7k on a fryer, they know they have 3k of headroom left. So the extra prep station goes in the basket. The kitchen gets to opening day fully kitted out.
