2024 AWE Luncheon: CAPE Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge 2023 Grantees

LOS ANGELES, February 20, 2024 — At the 2024 AWE (Asian Women Empowered) Luncheon, CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge 2023 grantees Kristy Choi, Shruti Parekh, Rippin Sindher, and Dorothy Xiao introduce their grant-winning projects. Their onstage appearance follows opening remarks by Janet Yang, chair of AWE, president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and president of Janet Yang Productions; Julia Gouw, chair of Piermont Bank; and Michelle Sugihara, executive director of CAPE. Yang, Gouw, and Sugihara, the leading forces behind the Challenge, share their backstories of the program and credit one another for their support and crucial roles in realizing their vision.
