Daniel Parker: Spatiotemporal Patterns in Malaria
A public health seminar recorded on January 30, 2017 featuring Daniel M. Parker, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher at Mahidol University - Oxford University Tropical Medicine Research Unit.
The epidemiology and ecology of malaria in humans includes complex space-time interactions between humans, mosquito vectors and the environments they share. In this talk I will present some of my research on spatial and spatiotemporal malaria dynamics in the Thailand-Myanmar border area. This work has implications for understanding where transmission occurs and who is at risk of infection, and strategies to disrupt transmission and achieve malaria elimination.
