Zone 1 should feel like 1 out of 10 effort.
Ultra easy, relaxed – the kind of pace you could hold all day.

If your Zone 2 feels comfortable, then your Zone 1 should feel almost too easy.
That’s the whole point: most runners run their “easy” days way too hard.

Get Zone 1 right, and your entire training gets better.
