Quick vid on my new love.
'It''s quite....' i forget what i was going to say, something like, it's quite warm here today, sunny skies and a slight wind from the south west. It ends suddenly as the 10minute limit hit ( i suppose) I didn't know there was a limit.
Anyway...
Any info on this radio much appreciated. I think it was know as an Eindhoven. There's a serial ~ of the back of course, but they didn't really go in for model numbers, back in the day...
I've now changed the ariel configuration at the back, positve stays same, earth goes underneath, and am getting a cleaner signal
The Yagi antenna, well not really youtube, there's info here, or there, but basic dipole or super large techy stuff, cb stuff, huge masts etc.
I made quite a few, ranging fro a length of copper pipe, to sky cable wrapped round a broom handle. And finally the one you see.
I've got tons of footage of what i made, but never got round to putting any of it up. It could do with another directer for more gain, but i have to say, the philips is a quality bit of kit. Rests fidele on the station and captures a lot. so very sensitive.
Things wrong with it: No stereo/mono, no balance control, no treble on left channel a tad too much bass on left.
I'm listening to it now and have to say if it sounds as good as this now i dread to think what it'll sound like when serviced. try out of this ******* world.
Saw one sold recently on ebay for 380 aussie dollars. I paid 5 euros and intend to keep until i either go deaf or die.
