Since after Nine took all the Prism shards which was a potential cliff hanger from season 2 in Sonic Prime, Shadow becomes so mad that he warned Sonic not to trust him and that ask the other versions from the Shatterverse are NOT his real friends.

Sonic breaks down and cries about how much he misses Green Hill, and all of his friends, but Shadow makes him feel better by saying that ‘they will get their World back’.
