Miley Cyrus: The Insanity of Bangerz

On August 25th 2013, Miley Cyrus infamously got on the VMA stage and gave one of the most controversial performances on live television. The performance caused national outrage from parents, fans, and the media alike. But how did Miley get to become that hated? Just a few years prior, Miley was hailed as a “teen icon” entertaining the majority of generation Z with the television show “Hannah Montana”. In this video, we take a closer look at the transformation of Miley Cyrus and understand how her 4th studio album ‘Bangerz’ challenged American beliefs on feminism, child stardom, and celebrity influence.
