Blue Rodeo (movie 1996, with Kris Kristofferson and Ann-Margret)

When a fluke accident leaves the 17-year-old Peter (Corbin Allred) almost entirely deaf his mother Maggie (Ann-Margret) blames herself - as does Peter. Despite her son's anger towards her, Maggie moves to a ranch near the special school to which Peter is sent to learn to deal with his disability.
There she meets and falls in love with her neighbor, the charming cowboy Owen Whister (Kris) whom Peter instantly dislikes. Things get complicated when Peter's suspicions about the smooth-talking cowboy lead him to uncover one of Owen's best-kept secrets, his true identity...
