There's a big difference between earthly tongues and heavenly tongues. An earthly tongue is connected to an assignment. A heavenly tongue connects you with a secret language with God. Time with God becomes more intimate and personal and encoded, wherein you would need the gift of interpretation to understand tongues. 

How to interpret tongues, how do you know it’s Right!
I believe God is always giving you the interpretation of tongues. In Corinthians, we see in part, we know in part. God will give a piece of the puzzle. We need discernment, wisdom, knowledge understanding, to interpret that tongue, and God will reveal the mystery of what that tongue means. 
So when you speak in tongues privately or corporately, and you are submitted to God, the immediate thought that comes to your mind will be the interpretation. 

When I start praying in tongues in the corporate place and pray out loud. The next thing I do or say will be the interpretation of the tongues or as a result having prayed in tongues.
