In Hebrews 13:15-17, 20-21, the author encourages believers to continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, giving thanks through Jesus. They are urged to do good and share with others, and as such, sacrifices please God. The passage also calls for obedience and submission to spiritual leaders, as they watch over the souls of believers and will give an account to God.

In verses 20-21, a closing blessing is given, invoking the God of peace, who raised Jesus from the dead—the great Shepherd of the sheep. The prayer asks that God equip believers with everything good to do His will, working in them what is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ, to whom all glory belongs forever.

Hebrews 13:15-17, 20-21

5 Through him, then, let us continually offer a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls and will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with sighing—for that would be harmful to you.

20 Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us[d] that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Non nobis Domine non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam. (Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory!)
