Self documenting SQL
Good quality code stands alone, in that its purpose and function can be gleaned from the code itself without supporting documentation. This is not to say supporting commentary is not useful - its more a reflection on the quality that we aspire to get from the code itself. But can we apply that same principle to the SQL we write ? Yes, we can.
