DCS World Mi-8MTV-Medical Evacuation Flight (Rain and Overcast)

Flying one of the missions I've made for the Mi-8MTV2 helicopter. When I'm learning a new system or feature of a DCS module, I usually will concoct a mission designed around learning that particular system.

In this case in addition to just practicing landings and take-offs outside an airfield's concrete runways, I wanted to utilize the Hip's radio navigation equipment. Specifically the Ark-9 and Ark-UD.

The Ark-9 is used to home in on frequencies like ADF sourced emitters etc.. The Ark-UD is used to home in on emergency channels sourced to specific frequencies reserved for them. It can hold up to six specific frequencies I believe. See Chuck Owl's excellent guide to the DCS Mi-8MTV2 for more detail on these systems.

This mission is based upon myself as a pilot for the Abkhazian Army Air Force. An Abkhazian border infantry unit has an injured trooper who needs evacuation from their base camp and myself and my flight crew are tasked with getting him and bringing the injured trooper back to base.

In this specific variation of the mission, the weather is poor and conditions for flying are not that good for mission success. Also, the number of troops needing medical evacuation changes along with their condition which in turn forces me to take another, more direct route back to base.

The mission is highly randomized so the replay ability factor is high and you really never know what kind of mission you will fly this time around.

Hope you enjoy.
