Sen. Gerald Neal speaking on SB 265 supporting Kentucky State University

Sen. Gerald Neal on the Senate floor spoke on SB 265 noting his support for Kentucky State University. Senate Bill (SB) 265 declares that the current Kentucky State University board of regents is no longer functioning according to its statutory mandate. It requires the Governor to name eight nominees for the board by April 1. All appointees are subject to confirmation by the Senate, and lawmakers seek to complete the confirmation process before the legislature adjourns for the year on April 14.


Sen. Neal stated that the university has produced many successful graduates and distinguished programs throughout the years despite inadequate funding from the state.
