2017 Hilux Touring Build

It’s a big deal and an important investment when selecting and setting up a 4WD for touring around this place we get to call home, that you take the time to consider what you want to do with it and where you want to go. Once you’ve established the need, it’s about how to get the truck set up for that. I did a lot of research before purchasing the Toyota Hilux and feel it was the best fit for me and what we were going to do in terms of touring.

There is plenty of gear out there for 4WDriving and knowing where to start can be overwhelming. So I did my research, quality and reliability were on the top of my list. I decided to put my truck in the hands of the guys at Out Of Town 4WD
(ARB Newcastle) due to their years of experience, how well organised the workshop was and also the feeling/vibe I got from the team when talking through what gear would best suit.

This video outlines how I took the blank canvas Toyota Hilux and created my touring truck. I go through all the gear for ARB and touch on my power setup from REDARC. There are other videos coming that go through our REDARC gear in more detail, along with our canopy setup from Dutch Engineering (Newcastle), and our automatic transmission upgrades from Wholesale Automatics (Melbourne).
