India May Soon Cook Food Using Ethanol Instead Of LPG : gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said India is developing ethanol-powered cooking stoves that can work using ethanol mixed with water. He claimed these stoves could become cheaper than commercial LPG cylinders in the future.
India already uses 20% ethanol blending in petrol, and now ethanol could also enter Indian kitchens. Gadkari said ethanol is a “swadeshi” fuel because it is produced in India and can help reduce dependence on imported LPG and crude oil.
He also revealed that Maruti Suzuki is working on a car that can run on 100% ethanol fuel (E100), without petrol or diesel.
India is now rapidly pushing ethanol as an alternative fuel for transport and possibly even cooking in the future.
