I use Copilot, Claude, and VS Code almost every day — but I have not seriously tried Cline yet.

Before testing an AI coding agent on any real work, I’m starting safely with a clean local demo repo.

Cline runs inside VS Code, can read files, edit code, run terminal commands, and connect to tools through MCP. The key part: it asks for approval before taking actions.

Next test: can Cline find a failing test, fix the bug, run the tests again, and explain what changed?
