This young woman was feeling self conscious about her naturally high hairline and wished to investigate what her options were for hairline lowering. As you will see in the video, she says that social media was one of the reasons for her insecurity as she would notice the hairlines of #instagrammodels and other online influencers and their "perfect" hairlines.

Dr. Ball and the team at The Maitland Clinic explained to her that there is such thing as a "perfect hairline" but that a stronger, dense and lower hairline with natural angles and direction suitable for a female patient were possible. After considerable discussion the plan was set to move forward with the FUT procedure for her case.

FUT has a strong advantage over FUE when it comes to female patients in that is that it does not thin out, or reduce the volume and density of the hair all over the scalp (the donor area). Since female patients typically are not head shavers, the resulting linear scar is a non-issue.

2150 follicular units were harvested and refined using stereoscopic dissecting microscopes in the finest tradition, and the result you see in this video is 14 months after her procedure.
