Tackling A Giant In Cambodia

After extensive research, the World Health Organization has reported some amazing and shocking statistics on the issues of tobacco use. They estimate that, worldwide, about 6 million people die prematurely every year, as a result of using tobacco products. An additional 600,000 die each year as a result of exposure to second-hand smoke. This makes tobacco the leading cause of preventable deaths around the world, accounting for 63% of all deaths, from non-communicable diseases. in this video report, discover how one small agency, ADRA Cambodia, with a very small budget, is taking on the international tobacco industry. In co-operation with government and religious leaders, they are making people aware of the dangers of tobacco use, and helping to enact legislation to restrict how the industry can promote their products in Cambodia.
