Trevor of Obituary talks new album, 'Inked in Blood' & Kickstarter's failure | Aggressive Tendencies

Obituary guitarist Trevor Peres explains why 'Inked in Blood' took a significant amount of time to be released. He expressed it was an on and off writing process over the course of four years, as they wanted to make a great product. On the flip side, the writing process for their self-titled LP was more pressed for time as they needed to meet a deadline. Before they signed to Relapse Records, they crowd-funded for Inked in Blood, which they planned to release through their own Gibtown Records. Apparently raising "$60,000" in the process, they ended up with a mere $7,000 after fees were taken off the top and the rewards were fulfilled. He also opines that, despite the band's signing with Relapse, a band in 2017 doesn't NEED a record label to get their name out there. April 11 2017.
