DIY Carbon Felt Lamp Wicks! (the "Forever Wick") DIY alcohol lamps w/carbon wicks! (no cotton wick)

as an experiment, i replaced the cotton wicks in my 3 DIY alcohol lamps with "forever wicks" (DIY carbon felt wicks). they work awesome! the homemade "carbon fiber" wicks are working just as well as (or better) than the store-bought cotton wicks. the material has amazing wicking properties and produces a super smooth burning flame. the material itself is very easy to work with. it's very soft (like regular crafting felt) and cuts easily with standard scissors. carbon fiber felt handles very high temperatures and takes a very long time to degrade. can be purchased in sheets on amazon. the wicks i made are cut from a 12" x 12" (1/4" (6mm) thick) sheet of it.

🔥 my next video will show 3 much larger DIY burners (all with much larger carbon felt wicks). in addition to light, those burners can be used for heating and cooking too!
