My PhD Viva Experience | Part-Time PhD Journey

A PhD viva, also known as a thesis defence or oral examination, is an assessment conducted to evaluate a PhD student’s research and their thesis. It is a significant milestone in the journey toward obtaining a PhD degree. During the viva, a PhD student presents and defends their research in front of a panel of examiners who are experts in the same field, with the examiners assessing the PhD student’s understanding of the research topic, their ability to defend the decisions they made throughout the research, and the originality and quality of their work because the research must be novel and unique.
