Chhaya Someswara Temple, also known as Chhaya Someswara Swami Alayam or Saira Someswara Temple, is a Saivite Hindu temple located in Panagarh, Nalgonda district, Telangana state, India. The temple was built around the mid-11th century during the reign of Kundurchoda (a Telugu Chola sect) and was supported and further decorated by later Hindu dynasties of Telangana. Some say it dates from the late 11th or early 12th century, but the temple, now partially restored, was in ruins by the mid-20th century. It has three garbhagriyas (sanctuaries) and is a form of temple architecture called a trikutalayam (complex of three shrines). The sanctum is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya. The three shrines share a common hall (mandapam) with intricately carved pillars in the Telingana style. These carvings depict scenes from the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Puranas. This temple is a popular pilgrimage site for Maha His Shivaratri. This temple has his three entrances. This temple is very close to his other Saivit temple, Pacharasomeswara temple in Panagarh. The pillars of Ardhamandapa and the plaza near the central Shiva temple were designed by the temple's architect and positioned to cast a uniform shadow (chaya in Telugu) on the lingam at all times of the day, regardless of the temple's location. .
