A Closer Look and Listen to the Audio-Technica BP28

This video takes a closer look at the @AudioTechnicaUSA BP28 long shotgun microphone. This mic comes in 2 versions, the BP28 and the longer BP28L with even more rejection. These are both 28mm diameter microphones.

Here, John records with the BP28 and allows you to listen to the comparison in audio between a BP4073 standard shotgun and another long shotgun that many people may be familiar with -- the BP4071.

All three of these microphones can be mounted in a RAD-2 or RAD-3 shock mount. The standard diameter mics will fit into the mic clips with the safety straps still attached. For the BP28 mics, you will need to take the safety straps off and stretch out the mic clips a bit. We make custom 28mm Nimbus slide on windshields to fit both the BP28 and BP28L, as well as standard diameter Nimbus windshields to fit the short BP4073 and longer BP4071.

As for the recordings, no filters were applied on the microphones and the audio is the raw audio going into a Zoom H4N Pro. Please email or message if you would like to us to share the raw .WAV files.
