They Just Installed This Roof… And It’s Already Wrong

This homeowner recently paid for a brand-new roof, but the inspection revealed several problems that should have been addressed during the installation.

The plumbing vent stacks had visible squirrel damage before the roofing work was performed. The damaged pipes had even been painted, making it clear the condition existed prior to the new roof installation. Instead of replacing the damaged vent stacks, new flashing was installed over them.

We also found adjustable roof vent terminations installed upside down. These vents are designed to be adjusted to match the roof pitch, but because they were installed incorrectly, attempting to adjust them only made the fit worse.

A new roof should be more than new materials. Proper workmanship and attention to detail matter just as much as the shingles, metal panels, or flashing components being installed.

In this video, I’ll show you what we found and explain why these details matter.
