India to buy 21 MiG-29 & 12 Sukhoi fighter jets from Russia

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is getting ready to ink the deal to buy 12 Sukhoi aircraft and the deal is with Russia. In the middle of the standoff that India has with China. There is an effort to try, upgrade and induct more military hardware. Times Now's Srinjoy reports these deals were in pipeline for a very long time. The MiG 21 has been discussed for a 21 MiG29s could be expected by the Indian airforce.

Sukhois are very expensive to run primarily because they require two pilots compare to most of the plane where long 1 pilot is required but it is now felt that perhaps even though India has a large number of Sukhois but the additional number of Sukhois could be used in the difficult time.
