The Abandoned Movie Theater The Meytre Grist #shorts

The Meytre Grist Mill can be found in Valdese, North Carolina. Just like the movie theater we just talked about, it was also built in 1906. The founders built it to serve the local community by grinding up corn and wheat. But a terrible flood came in 1916 and destroyed the water wheel. Losing the wheel forced the mill to use turbine power. But this was ineffective, and the owner shut the mill down in the 1940s. Also, he couldn't operate it alone, and World War Two was calling many of the young men in the community to serve their country.
