Thermostat Replacement on Honda: 2003 - 2007 Accord, Element & Odyssey (K24A 2.4L engine)

I demonstrate the thermostat replacement on Honda on the 2003 - 2007 Honda Accord 2.4L K24 engine. This procedure applies to Honda Element 2003 - 2006, the 2003 - 2008 Odyssey and other Honda's with the K24A engine. This was done as part of preventive maintenance on a high mileage car to prevent overheating.
Thermostats are a critical component of the cooling system. Thermostats may become stuck on or off when they fail. Ideally, a thermostat should be replaced when other critical components of a cooling system are replaced e.g. radiator, water pump etc.
